Software That Multiplies Your Capacity
Nearly 30 years of delivery across nuclear energy, national telecommunications, healthcare, and military operations — now pointed at your problem. Fixed scope, fixed price, direct access. The principals who scope it build it.

You already know which tasks your team is doing by hand that a system should be handling. The cost is not just time — it is errors, delays, and the ceiling it puts on how much your operation can actually grow. That ceiling is removable.
The software that got you here was the right call when you made it. But your volume changed, your staff changed, your requirements changed — and now the system is working against you instead of for you. Starting over does not have to mean starting blind.
When your own team says "we've been meaning to fix that," you're already paying for it — in slower releases, fragile integrations, and the quiet dread every time something touches that part of the codebase. The debt is visible. So is the path out.
The platform made sense at launch. Now it buckles under load, misfires in edge cases, or simply cannot do the things your business has started needing it to do. Performance problems do not resolve themselves — they compound.
Who We Work With
Healthcare & Medical Practices
Your operation runs on compliance, precision, and trust — and your software should hold that same standard. Whether it is a patient intake workflow that has become a liability, a billing process hemorrhaging staff hours, or an EHR integration that never quite worked the way it was sold to you, these are not IT problems. They are practice problems. Once Bunshin is on the job, it is our problem — and we have worked alongside the systems and the stakes that healthcare environments actually run on.
Defense & Maritime Contractors
You are working in regulated, audited environments where documentation is not optional and a missed requirement does not get a do-over. You need an engineering partner who already understands what it means to operate at that standard — not one you have to train. Rafael's background in multinational naval operations and Jose's work in critical infrastructure means we do not need the stakes explained to us.
Growing Regional Businesses
You built something real, and now the systems you built it on are slowing you down. Hiring in-house feels premature. Bring us the vision that has been sitting in your head. We will tell you exactly what it takes — and then we will build it.

The Firm
At Bunshin, the people who scope your work are the ones who build it. Senior experience on the proposal means senior execution on delivery — the same standard, the same engineers, from first call to go-live.
Director of Operations & Strategy
The person accountable when complex systems failed and the stakes were real — from safety-of-flight radar suites on aircraft carriers to fleet-wide operational readiness across the 2nd, 5th, and 7th Fleets. That standard carried directly into delivery leadership on high-concurrency, high-availability consumer platforms. PMP® and CSM® certified. At Bunshin, he owns the delivery commitment and the client relationship from first call to final handoff — no spin, no managed optics, no surprises you weren't warned about first.
Director of Technology & Architecture
Over 12 years of full-stack engineering across Fortune 500 companies and critical infrastructure — national telecommunications systems at AT&T, enterprise claims processing at Assurant, secure plant operations software under federal regulatory requirements at Susquehanna Nuclear, and a 100% HIPAA-compliant health records migration to cloud at Jefferson Health. He has led zero-downtime migrations of mission-critical systems and knows what it costs when software in a high-stakes environment gets it wrong. He leads with requirements, not code. He owns every architectural decision, every infrastructure choice, every line of production code reviewed.
No moving targets
Every engagement starts with a written scope document — what gets built, what it costs, what done means. You approve it before development begins. No ambiguity at the start means no arguments at the end.
Every engagement begins with a structured Paid Discovery ($500, credited to your project). You arrive with a problem. You leave with a written scope document, a technical proposal, and a fixed price — yours to keep regardless of what you decide next. No commitment required to find out exactly what the work involves.
The scope document defines requirements, architecture decisions, and acceptance criteria. You review and approve it before development begins. That approval is the gate — nothing goes into the codebase until both sides have signed off on what done means and what it costs.
Development runs in CSM-certified sprints. You have access to the staged environment and the Jira board throughout — not a status call once a month. Working software ships at every sprint boundary. Budget burn is tracked against the fixed price in real time. We use AI throughout the build process; the deliverable is always deterministic, hard-coded software with no runtime AI dependency in your stack.
We stay engaged after go-live. For clients who need continued development or support, monthly retainers run $1,500–$3,000 with a three-month minimum and direct principal access throughout — no ticket queue, no account manager, the same people who built it.
Our Standard
“Failure never shows up on the spot. It shows up later — in operation, at inconvenient moments, at high cost.”
We learned that working in environments where the stakes made it true — nuclear power operations, naval fleet readiness, health systems, financial infrastructure. A practice owner who cannot afford a compliance failure, a prime contractor where a missed requirement does not get a do-over, a business whose growth has lapped its infrastructure — none of them can afford to find out what was skipped six months after go-live. Every step we take is non-negotiable because the ones that get skipped are the ones that come back.
